Clay Shoot

Clay pigeon shooting

Sycamore Clay Shoot is a CPSA (Clay Pigeon Shooting Association) registered clay ground, where guests can look out over the rolling countryside of High Bradfield and shoot at a good selection of clay targets.

Clay pigeon shooting is the art of shooting at special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets, with a shotgun. In the past live pigeon shooting competitions were held, these were made illegal in 1921.  The ‘clay pigeon’ is actually a clay disc and the machine which projects the targets is known as a ‘trap’.

Clay pigeon shooting is currently enjoyed by both young and old of either sex and at an informal or organised level. Participants in the sport come from a wide variety of social backgrounds with a particular increase in the number of women and children coming into it, making clay pigeon shooting more and more a family orientated sport.
